Correct conduct –
every day.

Our compliance management system
ensures that we obey rules and
act responsibly, for people and the
environment.

In our activities focusing on water supply and wastewater disposal, we prioritise integrity and law-abiding conduct. Our group-wide compliance management system ensures these high standards and involves each individual employee – in every country in which we operate.

Everyone who works for the WTE Group has far-reaching responsibility and sets an example, in Germany and abroad.

Proactive compliance culture for a good work environment.
Our compliance culture covers all aspects of day-to-day work.

The foundation of a functional compliance management system is a sound and practised compliance culture which all employees can identify with and which is characterised by respectful interaction. This culture is based on three pillars through which compliance is implemented in daily business:

It’s up to all of us.

Our international activities, the growth of the WTE Group and the maintenance and preservation of our compliance culture call for trust, which we promote – starting with the example set by our managers – even across the hundreds of kilometres between our sites.
Accordingly, compliance training is provided at all WTE locations. The compliance management of EVN AG, the parent company of our company group, also takes into account local risks and requirements in accordance with the risk-based approach of the compliance management system. We also commit our contractual partners to comply with the EVN Integrity Clause and thus the basic principles of the EVN Code of Conduct.

Consistent commitment to the protection of human rights

As a company with international operations, some of the countries we operate in have less awareness of human rights issues. We are committed to full compliance with human rights at all of our sites.

All of us are ambassadors of the WTE Group. Our conduct in compliance with rules and legislation is characterised by integrity and helps us to uphold our company’s good name.

Whistleblower procedure

Through its whistleblower procedure the EVN Group offers the possibility to report indications of compliance violations confidentially. This procedure is an important element of the Compliance Management System. The Compliance Officer is responsible for processing and verifying the reports made within the scope of legal requirements. Your personal data and the reports given by you will be treated with the strictest confidentiality.

Please note that the whistleblower procedure is intended for suspected violations of the EVN Code of Conduct and other legal provisions. Reports on other matters will only be checked if they clearly concern essential overall interests of the EVN Group.

The whistleblower procedure is intended to secure a consistent, objective and efficient investigation of reported violations. Obviously false information will be dismissed.

Providing your contact details allows for further enquiries and supports the correct processing of your report. However, anonymous submissions will also be processed. Regardless of this, the protection of whistleblowers and the safeguarding of their confidentiality is guaranteed.

In addition to the internal whistleblower procedure of the EVN Group there is also the possibility of going the official way (external reporting). External reporting channels are provided by the Federal Office of Justice, the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) and the Federal Cartel Office. Further reporting offices of the Federal Government and the Land of North Rhine-Westphalia are to be established. Please note that such reports may result in administrative investigations.

We would like to encourage you to use the whistleblower procedure of the EVN, to give us the opportunity to respond appropriately to possible violations.

Reporting a suspected violation of the EVN Code of Conduct

In addition to this, perceived misconduct can be reported to the Compliance Officer via e-mail, letter or telephone.

Rules
Clearly defined rules for successful cooperation.
We use appropriate measures to ensure that laws and internal rules are complied with.

The EVN Code of Conduct forms the binding foundation for reliability, transparency, trust and quality in our dealings with internal and external partners and guides us in our day-to-day work – an important basis for responsible conduct.

With regular internal training and information events, we ensure that the topic of compliance remains at the forefront of everybody’s minds and that any questions relating to it can be clarified by the specialist officers.

Our employees’ adherence to rules in an intact compliance culture paves the way for a sustainable future for the WTE Group.
