WTE receives building permit
On 4 November 2015, the official ceremony of laying of the foundation stone took place in Prague. The project with an investment volume of more than 250 million EUR is going to be realized by the consortium SMP-Hochtief-Suez-WTE. The extended WWTP has a capacity of 1,200,000 PE or 163,000 m3/d respectively and is built at the existing location on the island Troja. In addition the contract comprises the operation of the completed treatment plant for one year. By constructing the WWTP the city implements the more stringent EU directives to improve water quality in sensitive areas. The peculiarity of the newly built wastewater treatment plant is that it is built entirely subsurface – the only treatment plant of its kind in Europe.
At the ceremony participated the Mayor of Prague, Adriana Krnáčová, as well as the representatives of the consortium.
