WTE Wassertechnik, Essen, has successfully managed to enter the Macedonian market. No less than three environmental projects, with a volume of EUR 20 million were signed on the 26^th February 2016. The waste water project, which is sponsored through an IPA fund, comprises of the turnkey construction of three new wastewater treatment plants in the municipalities of Radovis, Kicevo and Strumica, with capacities of between 5,000 und 10,000 m³/d.

The tender for the wastewater treatment plants was separated into three lots and published by the ministry of finance. The technology of these waste water treatment plants comprises of a mechanical waste water treatment, an SBR procedure, nitrogen/phosphor elimination, disinfection, as well as sludge stabilisation and dewatering. Two lots include the construction, or respectively the rehabilitation of the waste water system to a length of 4.7 km; as well as 4 km, including a pumping station. The construction time will amount to 18 months.
