Everything from a single source: consulting, design
and engineering for water technology plants.
Designing plants for water supply, wastewater treatment and sewage sludge utilisation is a complex task. Even in the concept phase, there are many factors that need to be taken into account. This makes it especially important to work with an established partner with many years of international experience in realising turnkey plants of all sizes. With the WTE Group, your project is always in expert hands.
Professional design of technical plants is one of the WTE Group’s core competencies. For our customers, we combine 30 years of experience in the design and conception of plants with forward-looking technology. Every plant that we design is strictly compliant with our customers’ requirements and the legal regulations. At the same time, our design work enables maximum cost-effectiveness, energy efficiency and environmental protection to be taken into account consistently from the outset in every project.
The successful planning of a project is a process that involves many individual steps. We are proud to be able to support our customers with our expertise in every step along the way.

In the interest of our customers, we cover the entire design spectrum in our projects. With our extensive international experience, we realise our design services professionally in all project phases. Sustainability and transparency are our guiding principles. This guarantees successful projects and satisfied customers.
When it comes to designing sewer networks, wastewater treatment plants and the like, in the WTE Group we take an integrated approach. From the green-field draft to the potential automation of processes and complete operation management concepts, all relevant external factors are taken into account in the plant design. This is made possible by our experienced, multidisciplinary teams who have successfully implemented and completed a large number of previous projects. Accordingly, we can provide the all following services from a single source:
Future-proof plants require future-oriented design. This is why we use groundbreaking developments when it comes to digitalisation in the industry. COMOS is an object-oriented planning tool for centralised and standardised engineering and for the management of plants across their entire life cycle.
We use BIM (building information modelling) to draft detailed 3D models that serve as a basis for later design steps and realistic visualisations.
With the support of object-oriented design software, we can map even the most complex plants in detail and incorporate any building trades that are involved.
This results in better data exchange both internally and with external planners and suppliers, so high-quality solutions can be developed even in the earliest phases of the design process.
We design every plant as if we were going to be operated by us in the future. With this as our guiding principle, we are able to implement object-based plant design that takes all secondary aspects into account, from the proper coordination of systems to the cost-effectiveness of the project and the project’s sustainability. This is reflected in our previous project successes. Would you like to learn more about us and the services we provide? Please feel free to contact us.
For us, climate protection is an integral part of every plant design. Whenever we design a project, we ensure that the potential for generating renewable energy is exploited to the full. We incorporate solar systems or combined heat and power plants and steam turbines into the processes so that excess heat and energy in upstream and downstream treatment stages can be utilised in place of primary energy. Wherever closed-loop circuits can be realised, we make sure to implement them. This focus on efficiency and sustainability lowers consumption and costs for the entire plant.
In our design work, we combine groundbreaking software with extensive experience. This means that our customers can be given detailed drafts, 3D models and design templates that serve as an excellent foundation for the rest of the building project.
Fabian Lappé, WTE Wassertechnik GmbH, Head of Business Division Technology / Design
Today, the WTE Group realises water and wastewater plants all over the world. From the initial project idea to the turnkey hand-over, we plan each individual phase of the project in detail and coordinate its implementation. Always in close collaboration with our customers.
The project’s success is guaranteed by our use of the latest technologies, the high level of technical expertise and the precise tailoring of the project to suit the client’s requirements.
However, design is just one facet of the broad service portfolio of the WTE Group: we are happy to also implement the construction of the plant on the basis of the design work. Also, we are well-versed in the different types of financing available for this type of project. And even after the plant has been completed, we remain on hand to help you as a project partner – we will be happy to support you with our extensive skills in operational plant management.
